Our team is committed to working to improve healthcare services for trans and nonbinary communities. One of the ways that we have worked towards this is by creating some recommendations for inclusive practice. These recommendations were developed by the Trans-ilience community advisory board and our research team members, and you can find more information about these here.
We just posted our latest video to our YouTube series focused on discussing these recommendations. This one is focused on affirming therapy practices and includes just a few key recommendations for how to approach affirming care with trans and nonbinary clients. You can check out this new video here and you can see the others in the healthcare video series here. The full series discusses other aspects of affirming care, such as how to create an inclusive space, forms and record keeping, resources, institutional practices and supports, and providing concrete helpful information about your practice.
We will be back in a few months with our final video in the series, where we will hear from trans and nonbinary community members about their personal experiences in healthcare, including positive and negative experiences. Stay tuned!
