Gender Affirmation Project
The Trans-ilience Research Lab is proud to partner with Allen Neighborhood Center, the MSU Triangle Bar Association, and the Salus Center to present the Gender Affirmation Project, a program that provides financial and practical assistance to transgender and nonbinary folks in Ingham County seeking to update their legal name and/or gender marker.

Khloe Purcell (She/Her). I am an undergraduate junior psychology major with a minor in LGBT and Sexuality studies. I am primarily interested in mental health struggles, especially with those in marginalized communities whose mental health is often overlooked or just ignored in general. Maybe because of cultural differences or just research in general being limited. I am passionate about learning more about those folks and getting more research about those communities out there as well, along with getting people the help that they need. In our society, a lot of people still struggle to get the mental health help that they seek or don't know what resources to use and I want to be apart of that help and help guide people to that direction. I want to make sure that everyone can feel understood and make sure that they know that they will not ever be alone. After undergrad, I am hoping to pursue a Master's in Social Work degree so that I can begin therapy as well, while maybe possibly in the future seeking out a PsyD. Outside of school, I work at Starbucks as a Barista, I also like watching anime and playing video games on my PS5. I also enjoy reading fiction fantasy like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. I also like to travel and go on road trips a lot.
