Gender Affirmation Project
The Trans-ilience Research Lab is proud to partner with Allen Neighborhood Center and the MSU Triangle Bar Association to present the Gender Affirmation Project, a program that provides financial and practical assistance to transgender and nonbinary folks in Ingham County seeking to update their legal name and/or gender marker.
Alex Guo (they/them) is an undergraduate research assistant with the Trans-ilience team and a sophomore at Michigan State University, pursuing dual majors in Humanities Pre-Law and Experience Architecture. They serve as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for ASMSU, MSU’s undergraduate student government representing over 50,000 students, and is the first non-binary person to hold this position. Alex is also an Undergraduate Learning Assistant for the College of Social Science and the College of Arts and Letters Representative on the Academic Integrity Board. In addition, they are a DEI consultant and LGBTQ+ advocate, deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through education, research, and academia.
